DotArena recently released a new Battle Mode to enhance the gameplay for players who felt that the game is getting repetitive. To unlock Battle Mode, clear 16-6 of Normal Campaign. This new mode rewards players with Wood/Metal/Crystal resources, which can be used in the battle institute. The last challenge of every chapter also rewards a new tome, so don't miss it!
There are 7 types of challenges that the player will face in Battle mode:
Escort: Escort -chosen hero- to complete his task and ensure he doesn't die.
Reinforcement: Eliminate the guards as well as the enemy reinforcements.
Bounty Hunter: Prioritize killing off Boss' each wave, else watch him become invincible.
Time Trial: After killing the first enemy, quickly eliminate the rest of the enemies within a set period of time.
Beheader: Ensure -chosen hero- makes -chosen number- kills in this stage.
Terrifying Duo: Survive in the crossfire.
Ultra Mode: Only 1 hero is allowed, but his Power recovery will be fast and his enemy will be extremely strong.
I've completed all the stages, the heroes used are all listed below. Before trying out, all heroes used are AT LEAST Orange+1 with full enchanted gear, so don't be disappointed when you cannot clear the stage if your heroes wasn't trained up.
1-1-1: Escort (The Cap'n)
Team: Gills/Brutus + The Cap'n + Abyss + Ember + Lucia
Strategy: Just use a solid tank who stands in front of The Cap'n.
1-1-2: Reinforcement
Team: Lucas + Grim + Abyss + Lucia + Ember
Strategy: Just keep spamming ultimates.
1-1-3: Bounty Hunter
Team: Lucas + Grim + Abyss + Lucia + Ember
Strategy: Use ultimate according to bring down Boss' HP asap.
1-2-1: Reinforcement
Team: Lucas + Grim + Abyss + Lucia + Ember
Strategy: Just keep spamming ultimates.
1-2-2: Bounty Hunter
Team: Roots + Akoni + Noire + Jimmy + Drako
Strategy: Keep spamming ultimate.
1-2-3: Time Trial
Team: Lucas + Abyss + Lucia + Frostik + Ratcher
Strategy: Store power, until one enemy is about to die then unleash everything.
1-3-1: Bounty Hunter
Team: Vincent + Blake + Voo + Lumina + Gyzmo
Strategy: Just play normally.
1-3-2: Time Trial
Team: Roots + Akoni + Noire + Jimmy + Drako
Strategy: Roots/Akoni/Drako spam ultimate, Noire/Jimmy store until the first enemy is about to die then use together.
1-3-3: Beheader (Ember)
Team: Lucas + Grim + Lucia + Ember + Frostik
Strategy: Cast Ember's ultimate only, Lucia's to bring down HP only.. and pray for luck.
1-4-1: Time Trial
Team: Abyss + Lucia + Ember + Frostik + Hyral
Strategy: Abyss keep spamming ultimate. Spam others together to clear others before time's up.
1-4-2: Beheader (Kane)
Team: Lucas + Grim + Kane + Frostik + Hyral
Strategy: Hyral/Grim ultimate to bring down HP, Kane get the kills.
1-4-3: Escort (Statik)
Team: Vincent + Blake + Statik + Abyss + Frostik
Strategy: Jam screen accordingly (Abyss first) to kill the enemies before they attack.
1-5-1: Beheader (Booster)
Team: Lucas + Grim + Booster + Lucia + Frostik
Strategy: Lucia/Grim reduce enemy HP, Booster gets the kills.
1-5-2: Escort (Lucas)
Team: Vincent + Lucas + Abyss + Lucia + Frostik
Strategy: Kill Marven (Jam screen) ASAP in wave 3.
1-5-3: Reinforcement
Team: Lucas + Grim + Abyss + Lucia + Ember
Strategy: Just keep spamming ultimates.
1-6-1: Escort (Magnum)
Team: Lucas + Abyss + Lucia + Hyral + Magnum
Strategy: Jam screen at Wave 3, kill Lilith asap.
1-6-2: Reinforcement
Team: Raff + Jugo + Abyss + Lucia + Ember
Strategy: Just keep spamming ultimates.
1-6-3: Bounty Hunter
Team: Leo + Grim + Medusa + Lumina + Gyzmo
Strategy: Don't use ultimates unless necessary.

Strategy: Just take note of Abyss' Health.
2-2-1: Ultra Mode
Team: Abyss / Sirius / Jade / Buster
Strategy: Keep spamming ultimate.
2-2-2: Beheader (The Cap'n)
Team: Gills + The Cap'n + Vincent + Lucas + Neko
Strategy: Everyone will be 1 hit KOed in this stage, Gills can act as a sacrifice and The Cap'n spam ultimates, get the kills.
2-2-3: Escort (Leo)
Team: Gills + Vincent + Leo + Medusa + Abyss
Strategy: Abyss spam ultimate, Gills/Medusa use for last resort to prevent Leo from getting killed.
2-3-1: Bounty Hunter
Team: Lucas + Grim + Medusa + Gyzmo + Frostik
Strategy: Frostik/Grim keep casting ultimate to bring down Boss' HP.
2-3-2: Time Trial
Team: Abyss + Lucia + Ember + Frostik + Hyral
Strategy: Wave3 kill Leo before you spam everyone's ultimate. Frostik/Hyral ultimate.
2-3-3: Ultra Mode
Team: Jade / Buster
Strategy: Keep spamming ultimate before the enemy attacks.

Strategy: Just take note of Abyss' Health.
2-7-2: Bounty Hunter
